The summer capital of Indian state Jammu & Kashmir. Kashmiri & Urdu are the official languages of Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir). The population of Srinagar is 12, 73,400 (2011 census).Total area of Srinagar is 294 Km2. Srinagar is situated in Kashmir valley on the bank of the Jhelum River. Srinagar is famous for Mughal Gardens, lakes, houseboats & ancient monuments. Srinagar is also known as “Venice of East”. Srinagar has a number of famous Holy places:
