Literal meaning “‘meadow of flowers”. Gulmarg actually is a town, but it is a hill station too. Gulmarg is popular skiing destination and a picnic spot. The town lies within the Himalayas and is just miles from the LOC between India and Pakistan. Gulmarg is famous for its greenery, mountains,horse riding,gondolas and vast spread ground. Gulmarg hosts winter games during the months of December and January. Gulmarg is the called as "heartland of winter sports in India”. Gulmarg lies in district Baramulla.
